Fans With Special Needs & Mobility Services

On the behalf of the NYCC team, welcome to the Big Apple! We are delighted that you are attending this super awesome event and we want to make sure all of our Fans, including our Fans who require special assistance, have a truly incredible experience!

Our Event and Show Team are committed to making NYCC the most awesome experience for you so we put together some key locations and services information. We want you to have a great time at the Show, however there are a few limitations on what we can provide and what is available within the venue so please read this over and let us know if you have any questions.

NYCC Medical Badge

Fans that require additional assistance while at NYCC may be eligible for a NYCC Medical Badge. Fans that qualify for the NYCC Medical Badge will also be provided with one additional Medical Badge for one companion and receive the following:

  • A badge which identifies you to the NYCC Staff and Crew that you may need additional assistance
  • All panel rooms have an allotment of seats dedicated only to Fans with NYCC Medical Badges. These seats will be offered to those with NYCC Medical Badges on a first come, first serve basis
  • Access to a dedicated area within the Queue Hall for Fans with special needs
  • One stop pickup of your NYCC Ticket and NYCC Medical Badge with our Medical Badge Service Specialist
  • Note: Fans who purchase tickets before the mailing deadline will be mailed their NYCC Ticket only. Please visit the Medical Badge Desk onsite to pick up your NYCC Medical Badge.

NYCC Medical Badges Do Not Provide:

  • Early access to the Show Floor
  • Guaranteed access into panels, autographing and special events
  • The ability to skip lines

While we will try and do everything possible on our part to make sure you have the experience you deserve, we cannot guarantee any seating, autographs or giveaway items.

If you have any other questions regarding a Medical Badge, please email Katie Enos or call (203) 840-5938.

Personal Mobility Vehicle Rental

New this year! The Javits Center now offers Personal Mobility Vehicle Rentals for Fans requiring assistance during New York Comic Con. Wheelchairs and scooters must be registered in advance of attending the show and can be picked up onsite at the concierge in the Crystal Palace. For more information on rental rates and to rent a vehicle please visit the Javits website.

Queue Hall

We have a dedicated area for anyone requiring special assistance or mobility requirements for arrival before show opening. Fans that qualify and are wearing their NYCC Medical Badge will have access to this area. Please note that a Medical Badge does not grant you early access to the event.

Seating In Panels And Screenings

All of our panels are tremendously popular and the rooms fill up quickly. All seating for these programs is on a first come, first served basis, and we cannot guarantee seating for everyone. There will be a limited number of seats dedicated to Fans with Special Needs in our panel rooms. You must have a NYCC Medical Badge to have access to this seating area of the room.

Fans with a NYCC Medical Badge should enter the general attendee line for each room they wish to gain access to. Qualifying for a NYCC Medical Badge does not guarantee access into any events. We encourage you to get there early and use your program guide to map out what events you would like to experience for the day, keeping in mind that all of our events are insanely popular and we want to make sure that you get to see what panel is important to you!

Autographing

Autograph sessions are always limited, so please plan in advance and use your program guide to plan which autographing sessions you would most like to attend. You can have a friend or someone in your party save a spot for you in line, if needed.

Hearing Impaired Services

Fans that are hearing impaired and require special assistance, please contact us prior to the event and advise us of your service need. Please contact Kate Enos for questions and information on how NYCC can assist you.

Guide Dogs And Service Animals

Guide dogs and service animals are also welcome at the Javits Center provided they are leashed or under similar control as appropriate. Since questions sometimes arise regarding Service Animals when the need is not obvious, we suggest Fans have a certification license or some other official document showing their need for their service animal. The owner assumes full responsibility of his/her animal.

Cold Storage

We have cold storage available for medications on a first come first service basis located in out Show Office area, however please be aware that space is limited.

Our entire Show Team, including our awesome Crew, can be found throughout the Show and if you have a question, need some special assistance or just want to give us a high five please make a point of stopping us and introducing yourselves!

The NYCC Medical Badge Application is now closed.

To obtain a Medical Badge, please go directly to the Medical Badge Registration located at the registration desks in the front of the Crystal Palace. For further questions, please contact Katie Enos at (203) 840- 5938 or at Katie@reedpop.com.
