New York Comic Con would like to welcome you to New York City! We are delighted that you are attending this Super Awesome Event and We want to make sure all of our Fans including our Fans who require special assistance have a truly incredible experience!
Below are some of the highlights of plans that we have established:
Javits Center
The Javits Center is equipped with sidewalk ramps, automatic doors at all street levels, restrooms and elevators that are accessible for anyone with mobility impairments. Payphones are accessible and are equipped with volume and TTY capability for those with speech and hearing disabilities.
Wheelchairs/Motorized Chairs
The Javits also has a limited number of wheel chairs available at no fee. The Javits can also assist fans wishing to rent motorized wheelchairs. Please call the Command Center at (212) 216-2196 before you arrive for information on reserving or renting a wheelchair.
Parking
While no public parking is available on-site, a limited number of spaces can be made available for fans with a valid parking permit for people with disabilities issued by a government authority. Please call (212) 216-2344 for information and reservations.
Guide Dogs and Service Animals
Are also welcome at the Center provided they are leashed or under similar control as appropriate. Since questions sometimes arise regarding Service Animals when the need is not obvious, we suggest fans have a certification license or some other official document showing their need for their service animal. The owner assumes full responsibility of his/her animal.
Rest Area
We have a rest area for the disabled, the elderly, fans traveling with small children and parents traveling with our littlest fans!
Cold Storage
We have cold storage available for medications on a first come first service basis located in our show office area. *this is available on a first come, first serve basis and space is limited.
Seating
Special limited seating in the special events hall is based on a first come first serve basis and the special events hall is cleared out after each performance.
Registration
We have a special registration counter set up in Fan registration for attendees with mobility issues.
Queue Hall:
We have a dedicated area for anyone requiring special assistance or mobility requirements for arrival before show opening. Just ask anyone of our team members when you enter the Javits and see us wearing our Red and Yellow Show Shirts!
Our Event and Show Team is committed to making NYCC and NYAF the most awesome experience for you and we want you to have a great experience at the show, however there are a few limitations on what we can provide. For example:
Panels and Screenings
All of our panels are tremendously popular and the rooms fill up quickly, all seating for these programs is on a first come, first served basis, and we can not guarantee seating for everyone. What we do encourage you to do is get there early and see one of our volunteers that we have posted outside of the room and they can help answer any questions you may have. Please use your show guide and map out what events you would like to experience for the day, keeping in mind that all of our events are insanely popular and we want to make sure that you get to see what panel is important to you!
Autographing
Special Autograph sessions are always limited, so please plan in advance and use your show guide to plan which autographing sessions you would most like to attend. If you can have a friend or someone in you party save a spot for you in line.
While we will try and do everything possible on our part to make sure you have the experience you deserve we can not guarantee any seating, autographs or giveaway items.
All of our Show Team including our Awesome Volunteers can be found wearing our Red & Yellow Show Shirts and if you have a question, need some special assistance or just want to give us a high five please make a point of stopping us and introducing yourselves!
