What Is New York Comic Con?
New York Comic Con is the East Coast's biggest and most exciting popular culture convention. Our Show Floor plays host to the latest and greatest in comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies and television. Our panels and autograph sessions give Fans a chance to interact with their favorite creators. Our screening rooms feature sneak peeks at films and television shows months before they hit either big or small screens. And with dedicated professional hours, New York Comic Con is a market place, bringing together the major players in the entertainment industry. New York Comic Con is the second largest pop culture convention in America and the only one that takes place in the comic book, publishing, media and licensing capital of the world — Gotham City.
How Big Is New York Comic Con?
New York Comic Con attracted over 151,000 attendees in 2014, easily making it the largest comic book and pop culture gathering in the country. And Crain’s New York Business has ranked NYCC as the second largest event in New York City! We don’t toot our own horn often, but that’s pretty awesome!
Who is the organizer?
New York Comic Con is another killer event by ReedPOP. ReedPOP also runs the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) Prime, East, South and Australia, Star Wars Celebration, Special Edition: NYC, Oz Comic-Con, BookCon, Emerald City Comicon and Comic Con India.

Who Needs A Ticket?
All attendees six-years-old and up need a Ticket for New York Comic Con October 8-10, 2015. Children 6-12 must purchase a Kids Day Ticket to attend NYCC on Sunday, October 11, 2015. Kids Day Tickets are only valid for children 6-12, only on Sunday, October 11, 2015 and while supplies last. Advanced registration and purchase of an adult Ticket is required. Please be prepared to show proof of age onsite. Please note, NYCC recommends all children under 18 attend with an adult, and all children under 13 must have an adult with them while at the NYCC.
What's the Deal with Kids Day Tickets?
Sunday Kids Day Tickets for Sunday, October 11 are for those children 6-12 and advanced registration is required. Similar to other Tickets, Kids Day Tickets can and will sell out, so be sure to get yours early. Please be prepared to show proof of age onsite. We highly recommend that you purchase your Kids Day Ticket early as there is a chance that we will reach maximum capacity for Kids Day Tickets to NYCC 2015 prior to the deadline. Once all Kids Day Tickets are allocated, no more will be released.
How do I get a Ticket?
There will be three opportunities for you to purchase tickets for New York Comic Con 2015:
- Tickets for NYCC 2015 will go on sale in advance of the show online on May 13 at 12:00 PM EDT.
- A limited supply of New York Comic Con Tickets will be available for purchase at Special Edition: NYC 2015 on June 6-7. All details can be found here.
- An event at Midtown Comics later this summer. All of the info for this event will be announced at a later date. Note that Midtown Comics is the ONLY Retail partner selling NYCC 2015 Tickets. Don’t miss NYCC 2015, October 8-11, 2015 in the Javits Center in New York City.

What is the Ticket Mailing Deadline?
If you are purchasing your Ticket(s) on or before 11:59 PM EDT on September 11, 2015 your Ticket(s) will be mailed via USPS to the address you enter. If you order 5 or more Tickets, please note that UPS shipping will be automatically added to your order to ensure delivery. Please note that tickets will not begin to mail until September 2015.
International Orders will have the option to have Tickets mailed or picked up Onsite.
If you are purchasing after 11:59 PM EST on September 11, 2015, please bring your printed confirmation to the Javits Center to exchange for your NYCC Ticket.
What's the Refund Policy?
Once you purchase a ticket it is yours to have and to hold forever, well at least until NYCC 2015. Sorry, we don’t offer refunds on any NYCC Tickets.
What do I do if I find/lose something?
Please bring all found items to the Show Office or the Security Office. The Lost and Found is located in the Security Office.
What if I get hurt?
If you're hurt reach out to the NYCC Staff, Crew or nearby Security and we'll get you the help you need!
What if I'm Harassed?
New York Comic Con has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:
- offensive verbal comments
- physical assault and/or battery
- harassing or non-consensual photography or recording
- sustained disruption of Panels, signings, and other events
- bathroom policing
- inappropriate physical contact
- unwelcome physical attention
in relation to, but not limited to:
- national origin
- gender identity
- gender presentation
- sexual orientation
- body size
If a person engages in harassing behavior, New York Comic Con (NYCC) Staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from NYCC with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the convention. Exhibitors, Fans (Attendees), Speakers, Guests, Professionals, Press, Staff, Volunteers, and Security are all subject to our anti-harassment policy and will be held to the same standards and disciplinary action.

What does NYCC think of Weapons?
Please read this entire policy before attending New York Comic Con. Failure to follow this policy may result in your removal from the convention without refund.
The following items are forbidden at New York Comic Con:
If you're bringing, buying or selling something that could maim, damage or cause serious bodily harm, we're going to take issue. The following items are forbidden at NYCC:
- Functional firearms (including air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns)
- Realistic replica firearms (including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for functional firearms)
- Functional projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons and water guns)
- Sharpened metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes and switch blades)
- Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)
- Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray)
- Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs and nunchaku)
- Hard prop weapons (including props made of metal, fiberglass and glass)
- Instruments that cause excessive noise levels like vuvuzelas, grenade whistles and grenade horns
- Aerosol mustard
Prop weapons will be allowed providing they are composed of foam or cardboard only. Prop firearms are allowed only if they cannot be mistaken for real weapons. The barrel of all prop firearms must be covered with brightly-colored caps. Prop bows will be allowed providing all arrows have soft tips.
Basically, don't be an idiot.
What does NYCC think of Bootlegs?
The buying and selling of counterfeit / knock-off / unlicensed materials is not tolerated at New York Comic Con. NYCC is a celebration of the best of popular culture, and bootlegs have no place in the show. Violation of this rule will result in one and only one warning. A second violation and you'll be removed from the show.
Weapons and Bag Check
Management shall have sole discretion in any matter that it believes may affect public safety or be important to protect the integrity of the event.
Can You Watch My Kids?
Sorry. New York Comic Con does not provide Child Care services at this time.
What should I do if my child, friends, family or I get separated?
Find a NYCC staff member or security guard and we will help you locate your missing party. We suggest that when you arrive at NYCC you and your party pick a location to meet in case anyone does get lost.
Can You Page Someone For Me?
There is no PA system available inside the Javits. Arrange a time and a place to meet beforehand, or we suggest using those cool cell phone things.
Can I take pictures and video?
For the most part, you’re welcome to take still pictures and video at New York Comic Con. Note that recording (including live-streaming apps) and flash photography are not permitted in Panels, Concerts or Screenings. Recording and photos are also not permitted in certain parts of NYCC’s Autographing Hall in 1B. Please understand that Guests may or may not pose for photographs with Fans. Guests have a right to their privacy and if they ask not to have their picture taken, please respect their wishes.
Are Selfie Sticks Allowed?
No, Selfie Sticks are not allowed at NYCC.
Will I Be On Camera?
We attract local, national and international press including CBR, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, FOX News, G4TV, MTV, Newsarama, New York Post, People Magazine, Radio Disney, The New York Times, TV Guide, USA Today and much more. In purchasing this badge and in consideration for being admitted to the Event, the holder consents to being recorded (by audio, visual and/or other means) for exhibition and exploitation by any means in all media now known or hereafter devised worldwide in perpetuity. Holder also hereby: (1) releases Reed Exhibitions from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, infringement of any right or any other claim or course of action of any kind; (2) authorizes and permits Reed Exhibitions and its designees which include but are not limited to all sponsors, exhibitors and contractors to use and authorize the use of his/her name, voice, likeness and all reproductions thereof by any means and in all media now and hereafter know for all purposes worldwide in perpetuity; and (3) agrees to comply with all rules and regulations of the event. Holder agrees not to make any recordings of any kind at designated activities without the express written permission of Reed Exhibitions. We reserve the right to deny entry or remove from the event facilities any person who in our sole and absolute discretion is behaving or threatening to behave in a manner which we reasonably consider to be disruptive of the event.
What is Artist Alley?
Artist Alley is the place to rub elbows with the greatest pencilers, inkers and writers from every corner of comics.
Will Guests Sign Autographs?
NYCC will feature hundreds of guests that will sign autographs in the Autograph Area, in Artist Alley, in private rooms and at various booths on the Show Floor. Guests will sign your NYCC Program Guide and only officially licensed DVDs, comics, toys and other collectibles, but they will not sign bootleg merchandise. While some guests will sign autographs at no charge, this is ultimately up to the guests' individual discretion. Please bring only one item to be signed during each autograph session and understand that guests may or may not post for photographs with Fans.

A Room was full when I got there, so now I can't see a panel. What do I do?
Due to supply and demand and the limited number of seats available, unfortunately not everyone will get to see all the panels. That's why NYCC will be live-streaming popular panels so you can still take part in the fun! Check back before the show for exact room locations that will be hosting live streaming.
Do you clear the rooms between panels and screenings?
New York Comic Con will be clearing the Main Stage after each Panel. Only the Main Stage will be cleared after each Panel. No other Panel Rooms will be cleared.
Can I have my wedding at NYCC?
Thank you for thinking of NYCC in this special way! We love that you want to get married at our event, but with the crowd and size of NYCC we are not equipped to deliver such a special experience. We wouldn’t want anything outside of our control to ruin this important day in your lives.

Is There A Coat Check?
Yup! The Javits Center operates a Coat Check open to all Exhibitors and Fans. It's located across from Starbucks on the Level 2 South Concourse overlooking the entrance to Main Events Hall-D. The cost is $3.00 per item. You can check briefcases, backpacks, umbrellas and luggage. There is a separate Coat Check for VIPs in the VIP Lounge.
Is There Wifi In The Javits?
Yes. Free WiFi throughout the Javits Center will be provided by LexCorp Industries.

Can I Bring A Suitcase Or Handcart With Me?
Please be aware that handcarts, trolleys, oversized strollers, rolling luggage and wheeled backpacks are not allowed in the Exhibition Hall.
How do I learn more about graffiti artwork like what appears in the NYCC graphics?
Andre P. Charles, a noted local graffiti artist, and the owner of the copyright for the “NYC Collection” (a graffiti presentation of the letters NYC). Andre P. Charles will be appearing in New York Comic Con’s Artists Alley. New York Comic Con is a licensee of Mr. Charles on the NYC Collection work.
