How to Enter NYCC

NYCC Staff, Crew, Security, and the NYPD will be directing traffic (both cars and humans) each morning to make sure everyone enters through the right place safely. Please read the following carefully and check out our important security procedures below.

Remember: what type of badge you have will determine where you enter and where you're arriving from will determine the best line for you to get into.

If you're a fan with a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Sunday Kids badge or you want to enter the Queue Hall in 1C to tap your badge for a panel happening on the Main Stage Presented by AT&T that day, then you'll enter at the Green Entrance.

There are now two Green Entrances. Here's the one that's best for you to use depending on how you're arriving at the Javits Center:

  1. Arriving from the Subway: you'll stay on the South side of the street (left side) and walk down 34th street towards 11th Avenue, cross the street at the light and continue halfway down the block towards 12th Ave. You'll then cross to the North side of the street (the side the Javits Center is on) and follow NYCC Staff direction to Entrance Tent.
  2. Arriving from the East side of 10th Avenue: NYCC Staff will direct you to 39th Street. You'll head straight down 39th Street towards 11th Avenue. NYCC Staff, Security, and NYPD will direct you to cross the street for the Entrance Tent nearest you.
  3. Arriving from 11th Avenue and 41th Street: NYCC Staff, Security, and NYPD will direct you up 41th Street towards 10th Avenue. You'll then head over to 39th Street so you can hit the end of the line that's going down 39th Street back to 11th Avenue. You'll hop in line for the Entrance Tent once you cross the street to enter the Javits Center.

If you're a fan with a Medical Sticker on their badge (or if you have medical assistance needs and need to visit the Medical Desk at Will Call) or if you have a Professional, Press, Speaker, Guest, Exhibitor, or Artist Alley badge, then you'll enter at the Blue Entrance.

Once you have your badge from Will Call:

  • If you are a Pro, Press, Speaker, fan with a Medical Sticker, Guest, Exhibitor, or Artist, you can enter through the Blue Entrance once you have your badge.
  • If you're a fan picking up a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Sunday Kids badge and it's before 10:00 AM, you'll need to head to the GREEN ENTRANCE once you have your badge so you can enter with the other fans through the Queue Hall. If it's after 10:00 AM, you can head right into the show from Will Call.

For the first time, NYCC will have walkthrough metal detectors. You will need to have your badge out, your pockets empty, and your bag open for the security checkpoint at each entrance before you can enter the show. Any small items such as cell phones, keys, wallets, etc. that you keep in your pockets, you can simply hold high above your head as you walk through the metal detectors. The detectors will scan you from your wrists down.

If you're cosplaying, you'll have a separate table for cosplay weapons and props check to determine if they are a security risk or not. Please make sure you're keeping an eye open for those signs and stepping aside. Following NYCC Staff direction will help you and those around you get into NYCC as quickly as possible.

If you don't need to bring a bag, don't bring one! It'll be easier for you to get through security. You'll simply empty your pockets, keep those small items visible in your hands, put your hands up as you walk through the metal detectors, and you're good to go.

If you need to bring a bag, bring one that's easy for security to check (i.e. drawstring bag, one with few pockets, etc).

If you're interested in an event at the Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center, The Theater at Madison Square Garden, or the Hudson Mercantile, you can head straight to those venues. Click on those pages for entrance details; NYCC Staff and Security will also be directing fans at individual venues.
