Shipwreck, the San Francisco-based literary erotic fan-fiction competition, returns to New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 5.

This time, we'll take on noted theme park-enthusiast and climate change denier Michael Crichton's seminal work on Dinosaurology, Jurassic Park.

Six Great Writers (TBA) take on six characters from the source material (meaning the book, with apologies to Jeff Goldblum's abs) and write fanfic that is either salacious, horrific, hilarious, or, hopefully, some combination of the three. All the fics are read aloud to you by our Thespian-In-Residence before the writers are unmasked. You choose the your favorite fic, and the writer is cast off from polite society.

Please note: no children are ever harmed at Shipwreck, and consent and inclusion are paramount. VIPs get seating in first few rows of middle section, a selfie with the cast members/authors, and a signed show flyer by the authors.

Must be 21 years or older.

Music Video Book ClubMusic Video Book Club

When: Friday, October 6 from 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Where: Rock Bar in Manhattan, 185 Christopher Street

Four guests. 10 music videos. No survivors. Music Video Book Club is a comedy/video event in which host Chris Cummins (Den of Geek, Sci-Fi Explosion) and his panel of comedians and music experts watch a number of music videos from the amazing to the awful and share their opinions. The catch? The panel will only know half of the videos they will see ahead of time in order to form detailed opinions on what they've seen. The remaining videos will come as a complete shock to the panel, and Cummins has plumbed the sometimes demented and depraved depths of videodom to highlight some of the craziest clips ever made. What results will be an evening of musical madness that is best described as the bastard offspring of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and TRL Live.

Must be 21 years or older.
