Many graphic memoirs seem to share a common theme of mental health issues that the subject has either encountered as a spouse, child or family member, or that they have overcome or continue to deal with. This session will explore ideas that inspired these creators to share this experience. How can educators and librarians use these stories as a way to either instill compassion and empathy or to help that reader find a way to resolve their own challenges?
