For the first time ever, New York Comic Con is expanding to five full days of programming! In addition to the pro programming you’ve come to know and love, NYCC and ReedPop are proud to offer attending professionals a full slate of panels, workshops and mixers all day Wednesday, October 16! If you are attending as a Professional Retailer, Creator, Librarian, Lawyer, Game Developer or any part of the pop culture industry, please join us for five days of content curated to help you take your career and industry sector to the next level.
But what if you’re not already an industry pro? Don’t worry! Professional Programming during NYCC (Thursday 10/17 - Sunday 10/20) is open to ALL badge types. Wednesday 10/16 programming is exclusively for those with industry badge types.
Below you’ll find details on this year’s updated Professional Programming track including new amenities for pros attending NYCC. Keep an eye on this page as we’ll be adding more programming as we get closer to the show.

How to Get to the Javits Center River Pavilion
This year’s professional programming track will be held predominantly in the River Pavilion. The River Pavilion is located in the original Javits Center building and can be accessed via the Crystal Palace. To reach the River Pavilion, utilize the escalators to the Mezzanine located behind the Registration/Will Call counters after you have passed through security. From there, follow the signs for professional programming.
Educator’s Day
The New York Public Library’s Center for Educators and Schools (CES)
Join us for a day of programming and professional development for librarians and educators, including curated panels that feature teachers, scholars, and creators. This event is presented in partnership with The New York Public Library's Center for Educators and Schools, an initiative devoted to ensuring educators can make the most of the world-renowned resources of the Library. Find programs and services tailored to the educator community, including ready-to-use curricula that feature the Library’s collections, exhibition tours and tools that highlight the treasures of the Library, professional development opportunities through fellowships and credit-bearing workshops, school support and outreach, curated book lists, and more: nypl.org/ces Follow #NYPL-CTLE for more in the schedule!
Thursday October 17, Continuing Teacher & Leader Education (CTLE) Credits
Eligible New York State educators can receive CTLE credit for attending specified panels during NYCC Professional Day. Participants must complete an evaluation form after each session, following instructions from NYPL's Center for Educators and Schools staff. Certificates will be emailed within two weeks of attendance. Email [email protected] with any questions about CTLE credits.

Lit-X & NYC DOE
New York City Public School’s innovative Civics for All Comics Group and Lit-X, the transformational national group of comics educators, are proud to be working with New York City Comic Con to deliver an exciting slate of comics education sessions for 2024. These sessions will include presentations on teaching with comics, panels with creators, guidance on title selection, workshops on improv as well as using comics and pop culture for diverse learners, and cutting edge research-based comics education strategies. All sessions will be designed to provide ready-to-use teaching strategies for the K-12 classroom for all educators. CTLE credits will be available for all of the Lit-X and Civics for All Comics Group sessions for New York State educators.
The NYC DOE is committed to ensuring equitable access to high-quality education for all students, offering a diverse range of programs and services to meet the needs of its diverse student population. The department focuses on fostering academic excellence, supporting student well-being, and preparing students for college and career success.
The Civics for All Comics Group began in early 2020 as a collaboration between the New York City Department of Education and various comics creators to publish non-fiction graphic texts for educational use. Over the last five years, the Comics Group has become one of the largest comics publishers in the country. Spearheaded by the Department of Social Studies and Civics, the imprint has published twenty-seven comics as of July 2024. In addition to publishing comics, the Civics for All Comics Group regularly presents at conferences and freely shares its resources to educators and schools throughout the country.

Day of Manga Presented by Manga in Libraries
Come join us as we talk with professionals in the retailer, library, and educator fields about how Manga can be used in all aspects of your industry. This programming is geared toward Professionals, Educators, and Librarians and is open to all badge types like Pro, Panelist, Exhibitor, Fan, Press, etc. Check the app for more info and times!
Manga in Libraries is a leading educational organization founded by Jillian Rudes, dedicated to providing manga professional development for librarians and educators. As a school librarian at a New York City public school for grades 6-12, Jillian is also the author of Manga in Libraries: A Guide for Teen Librarians and was dubbed the "Manga Maven" by Library Journal. In 2024, she served as a judge for the prestigious Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards and is currently leading research on "Teenage BIPOC Readers of Manga" through an IMLS grant. Manga in Libraries’ mission is to assist librarians in the seamless integration of manga into their library spaces, curricula, and program initiatives.
