NORWALK, CT - ReedPop, the world’s leading producer of pop culture events, today announced the launch of the Cosplay Central Crown Championships.
The EuroCosplay Championships and the global Crown Championships of Cosplay will now run as one global ReedPop competition under one banner, Cosplay Central Crown Championships.
These two well respected competitive events joining forces will create a truly global celebration of the very best cosplay craftsmanship and pop culture.
Cosplay is one of the pillars of ReedPop events and its community and the relaunched Crown Championships will build on the craftsmanship foundation of both competitions. The competition will work in close collaboration with Cosplay Central to bring fans more about the incredible finalists and a behind the scenes look at the finals.
Entrants for the Cosplay Central Crown Championships will be able to choose between recreating a character design and being judged for accuracy or creating their own design based on a recognizable pop culture character and being judged on the design and interpretation of their given starting point. The ability for cosplayers to choose their own competition path embraces the full scope of cosplay creativity.
All entries will have their costume construction closely inspected by an independent panel of judges, all of whom will have proven costume or cosplay experience, before they take to the stage and show off their creations with incredible costume presentations or scripted performances inspired by their characters.
Global Circuit and Final:
The global final will now be held at MCM London Comic Con in October 2022 and beyond.
The UK circuit will no longer hold regional selections and will instead move to a single round at MCM London Comic Con in May 2022. The finalists selected to compete in the cancelled EuroCosplay Final 2020 have been offered a place in the new global final.
The US circuit kicks off the local qualifiers at Florida Supercon (September 10-12, 2021), followed by NYCC (October 7-10, 2021) and ECCC (December 2-5, 2021). Those winners will travel to C2E2 in 2022 (dates tbc) where there will be one last local qualifier before selecting the overall winner to join ReedPop in London for the global final in October 2022.

Florida Supercon: July 12, 2021 - August 8, 2021
NYCC: July 12, 2021 - August 15, 2021
ECCC: August 30, 2021 - September 26, 2021
Later this year, ReedPop will announce registration for the last qualifier and overall final of the US circuit at C2E2 2022 and the UK qualifier at MCM London Comic Con in May 2022.
For Australian fans, ReedPop is delighted to announce PAX Australia (October 8-10, 2021) will be selecting a finalist for the Championships. For followers in Europe and around the world, the team will have more news in the future about additional events cosplayers can take part in.
